Routine CareWe believe that all pets need regular examinations. It is really important for a pet’s overall health because it allows veterinarians to do a thorough check up and evaluate his or her general condition.

An important part of the examination is the time spent talking with our staff. Here at Mercy Animal Hospital, our staff is here for you if you have any questions or concerns about things that are going on with your pet. We are here to discuss anything from diet, training, and much more. You might talk about something and didn’t realize that it could be a problem. We might hear you say something that tells us to look closer or to run more tests to investigate the problem.

During the examination, our veterinarians will look over your pet thoroughly. However, this is also a good time to discuss preventative medicine. We will make sure that your pet is up-to-date on vaccinations and also make sure that you have enough heartworm and flea and tick medications. We may also talk about routine deworming and other preventative medicine that you need to know about.

There is another reason that we recommend routine examinations. We hope to catch any problems that might turn into serious ones. Our veterinarians are trained to catch things early before your pet is really ill. We may recommend blood work to further evaluate your pet’s overall health.

If your pet has not had an examination in awhile, please call us today to schedule one. Please don’t hesitate to call us at 780-406-1400 with any questions that you may have.
